Il Tour permette, grazie alle biciclette a pedalata assistita, di raggiungere uno dei nove siti dell’Itinerario Arabo Normanno di Palermo: il Duomo di Monreale.
Con partenza dalla nostra sede, partiamo alla volta del Cassaro, l’attuale Corso Vittorio Emanuele, per pedalare lungo il Corso dell’Uscibene, la via che storicamente unisce la Porta Nuova di Palermo con Monreale, oggi chiamata Corso Calatafimi. Seguendo la storia incontreremo la via dell’acqua che ci porterà fino a Monreale, attraverso edifici Normanni e Necropoli fenicie. Arrivati a Monreale, ci soffermeremo a visitare il Duomo, famoso per i suoi scintillanti mosaici, ed il chiostro, dalle colonne a spirale. Proseguiremo il tour godendo del panorama che Monreale ci propone nei suoi diversi belvedere e ci soffermeremo a dialogare con i Mosaicisti del luogo che ci mostreranno i segreti del loro mestiere. A questo punto, sarà piacevole fermarsi presso il forno del paese, per assaporare il caldo sapore del “Pane Cunzatu”, realizzato con ingredienti locali. Proseguiremo pedalando per la Giudecca e scoprendo tutti i
segreti di un “Monte Reale” che ha ospitato il popolo Normanno.

The Tour allows, thanks to pedal assisted bicycles, to reach one of the nine sites of the Arab Norman Itinerary of Palermo: the Cathedral of Monreale.

Departing from our headquarters, we leave for the Cassaro, the current Corso Vittorio Emanuele, to cycle along the Corso dell’Uscibene, the road that historically connects the Porta Nuova of Palermo with Monreale, today called Corso Calatafimi. Following the story we will meet the water route that will take us to Monreale, through Norman buildings and Phoenician Necropolis. Once in Monreale, we will stop to visit the Cathedral, famous for its sparkling mosaics, and the cloister, with spiral columns. We will continue the tour enjoying the panorama that Monreale offers us in its various viewpoints and we will stop to talk with the local Mosaicists who will show us the secrets of their trade. At this point, it will be pleasant to stop at the village oven, to savor the warm flavor of the “Pane Cunzatu”, made with local ingredients. We will continue pedaling through the Giudecca and discovering all the secrets of a “Monte Reale” which hosted the Norman people.

Die Tour ermöglicht es, dank pedalunterstützter Fahrräder, eine der neun Stätten der arabisch-normannischen Route etwas oberhalb von Palermo zu erreichen: die Kathedrale von Monreale.

Von unserem Hauptsitz aus fahren wir zum Cassaro, dem heutigen Corso Vittorio Emanuele, um entlang des Corso dell’Uscibene zu radeln, der Straße, die historisch die Porta Nuova von Palermo mit Monreale verbindet, heute Corso Calatafimi genannt.  In Monreale halten wir an, um die für ihre funkelnden Mosaiken berühmte Kathedrale und den Kreuzgang mit seinen herrlich dekorierten Säulen zu besichtigen. Wir setzen die Tour fort und genießen das Panorama, das Monreale uns an seinen verschiedenen Aussichtspunkten bietet, und wir halten an, um mit den lokalen Mosaizisten zu sprechen, die uns in die Geheimnisse ihres Handwerks einweihen. Dann geht es weiter zu unserem Dorfbäcker, bei wir das warme “Pane Cunzatu” kosten dürfen, das aus lokalen Zutaten hergestellt wird. Wir werden weiter durch die Giudecca radeln und alle Geheimnisse eines “Monte Reale” entdecken, der die Normannen beherbergte.
